Lot 35
A Victorian hallmarked silver mounted walking stick, a white metal mounted malacca example with horn handle and a further example with 18ct gold electroplated mount engraved "JT Linndey 100. Carrington Rd Stockport", and a gnarled walking cane (4). CONDITION REPORT: Surface wear throughout commensurate with age. Denting to fittings in places.

An ebonised walking stick with hallmarked silver mount and collar with inscription "Presented to J Williamson by the employees of The Corporation Gasworks on his retirement from duty 31.7.25", length 91cm and another example with rustic carving and deer head mount, marked "Wilderswil", length 85cm (2). CONDITION REPORT: Surface wear commensurate with age. No major signs of damage.

A pair of Chinese boxwood carvings, one depicting a man leaning against a walking stick (af), the other depicting a woman holding a basket, both on square bases, height 11.5cm, a similar figure of an elderly man, height 14.5cm, an ebonised carving of a woman holding a branch of peach fruit, and two further figures of elders with incised auspicious character marks to the front of their robes (one af) (6).

A Japanese Meiji period carved ivory figure of a man with his leg on a drum, holding a stick in one hand and a fruit in the other, with a rat coming from underneath his robes, height 8cm (af). CONDITION REPORT: There are two major splits to the man's back and a smaller one in between, another similar to the drum and the drumstick is broken, only part of it is present. Mild surface dirt.

A Japanese Meiji period carved ivory okimono depicting a woman with walking stick, with incised decoration to her robe, height 10cm, on turned ebonised base. CONDITION REPORT: Several splits to the ivory. It appears that the woman used to hold something in her left hand and is no longer present.

A 9ct rose gold bar brooch of pierced form set with a central red stone and two seed pearls either side, a 9ct yellow gold stick pin of pierced circular design with two external seed pearls and centred with a tiny diamond, a 14ct yellow gold cased lady's wristwatch, the dial set with Arabic numerals and inscribed "WELSBRO" with rolled gold bracelet strap, a yellow metal pierced pendant with central purple stone and two seed pearls on a chain, and a pair of 9ct yellow gold mounted drop earrings with two purple stones (5).

A small collection of jewellery comprising a yellow metal mourning brooch set with an oval aperture containing a hair fleur de lys, inscribed "William Tinsley died February 19th 1853 aged 73", a 15ct gold stick pin with a fox leaping through an inverted horse shoe set with half seed pearls, a further stick pin with a penguin, a hallmarked silver small bright cut vesta case, a ring decorated in metallic thread spelling out "My Love" and an Eastern white metal napkin ring with monogrammed square shaped cartouche (6).

Shapland and Petter of Barnstable Art Nouveau inlaid 'Peacock' hall cabinet, circa 1905 the central door inlaid with panels depicting stylised peacocks the interior with coat hooks, mirror and stick rail 183cm high, 118cm across, 47.5cm deep. Exhibited: Liberty, London, Arts & Crafts Design from 1860-1920, 2003. Shapland & Petter was founded in 1854 by Henry Shapland. At its height in the Arts & Crafts and Art Nouveau period it supplied the leading retailers including Liberty & Co. and Waring & Gillow.

A Lladro figure, Embroidery Lady, 27.5 cm high, and seven other Lladro figures (a.f.) (8) Condition report Report by GH The tall seated gentleman appears to have had perhaps a walking stick in his left hand, which is no longer present. The girl with the violin appears to have had her head broken off and re-glued. The girl holding the candle has had her hand and the candle broken off and re-glued, and the flame on the candle has also been broken off and is missing. The fisherman has sustained damage to his rod, which has been broken and repaired, with glue residue around his hand, and also he has had his head broken off and re-glued with associated old paint restoration. Other than the aforementioned, there are no obvious major damages or repairs. None of the marks to the undersides of the figures are struck through.
