A group of early nineteenth century Masons cobalt blue ground and gilded decoration wares. To include: a candle stick and a pair of straight-sided vases. They are each decorated floral designs. 9 - 16 cm tall. (3)Condition: Some wear to the gliding in places. Restoration to the top rim of the candle stick.
dating: circa 1900 provenance: Kingdom of Italy, Stick with silver grip, enameled with a dog and a dedication at the back: 'To Laurentina, my maiden of the Wst'; also provided with a brass plaque featuring the monogram 'GP' (Giacomo Puccini). Wooden haft. Together with a copy of 'La Metà del Mondo vista da un'automobile' ('The half of the world seen from an automobile') by the Prince Scipione Borghese (ed. Hoepli, Milano 1908) featuring a handwritten dedication before the title page:'Dear Laurentina,I give you this present to ask you to run away with me in a dream, the roaring of my riding [...] still comes out from these pages.I've permeated my feelings...corporations [...] with several feminine fruits... I've experienced love sometimes, but I'm far away from the previous relationships now... only one did not wear out yet - the sweetest, gentlest, deepest woman and lover...with a faithful mind...Heart, blood, smiling skin, play and life - you are persuasive, you enjoy your beauty with this musician man that will never see you colorless. I give you the 'when' and the 'now'.Giacomo Puccini' Laurentina Castracane of Antelminelli, an Italian charming noblewoman, was closed to Puccini when he was at hospital after a car accident in 1902. The love story with Laurentina was Puccini's most important one.Provenance: Countess Laurentina Castracane of Antelminelli's heirs. height cane 86 cm.
dating: 1944 provenance: Kingdom of Italy, Ivory pommel of spherical shape, hold by a ring-nut shaped as a truncated cone made of copper-colored metal and featuring the crowned monogram 'WSC' (Winston Spencer Churchill) . Wooden haft with missing parts at the bottom. Ring-nut marked with 'FRANZI LONDON'. Provenance: the owner's heirs. The stick was given by Churchill to the owner during his journey in Italy in 1944, when he visited Misa and Metauro. During the same occasion, the then English Prime Minister dedicated to his guest the long inscription of the nearby lot. height 88 cm.
dating: 1944 provenance: Italy, Beautiful edition of the Holy Bible translated by Monsignor Antonio Martini and illustrated by Gustavo Doré, Fratelli Treves Editori, Milan 1931, 944 pages with numbers. Elegant hard cover, richly decorated with impressions and gildings, depicting scenes from the Exodus with Moses saved by the Pharaoh's daughter.The first pages of the volume feature a long, handwritten dedication of two pages, where one of the greatest personality of the 20th Century thanks his host for welcoming him in his home during his journey in Italy, signed 'Winston Churchill' at the bottom, and with the date 'August, 24th 1944'. Provenance: the owner's heirs.The dedication was handwritten by Churchill on this edition owned by the family's owner who gave hospitality to the well-known statesman during his trip around Italy in 1944, when visiting Misa and Metauro fronts. In this occasion, the English Prime Minister gave the family his walking stick with his initials (see the nearby lot). height 28 cm.

Monogram surmounted by an aristocratic crown on the top. Wooden stick-scabbard dyed in black with metallic foot. Total length closed 91,3 cm. length 75,2 cm.
