A Regency stick barometer by Dollond of London in bow front mahogany case, 100cm long CONDITION REPORT: No mercury is visible, although some can be heard in the bottom of the barometer as it is slowly tipped backwards. The bow glass front is in good condition. The winder and marker work. There are small amounts of white paint to the reverse from when it was screwed to the wall and decorated around. The bow front section to the base has at some point broken away from the half ball surmount as a break is visible between the two. There are two wall fixings which have been attached to the back. The barometer has come from a local deceased estate where is had hung in the hallway for many years.

A set of eight early 20th Chinese century carved ivory figures of immortals, ech mounted on a carved hardwood stand with pierced green stained bone surround, each approximately 23cm high including stand, housed in two fitted boxesLots 77 - 86 have been privately consigned. The vendor's father was James Eylmar Ridgway (from the Ridgway Tea family) who was a bank manager for the Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank in China before the second world war. James Ridgway purchased the ivories in the early 20th century and they were housed in their Chinese residence before the family returned to England. James Ridgway was taken as a prisoner of war during the Japanese occupation and returned to England on his release to join his family, where he later went on to work for the Bank of England. During her older years living as a widow in Bexhill the vendor's mother suffered a burglary where six of the twelve carved ivory flower god figures were taken along with other ivories and jewellery. A photocopy of a press cutting at the time has been provided by the vendor along with a list in Chinese of the figures. CONDITION REPORT: Figure One (Bearded man with bamboo holder)Several small cracks from the base running up the back of the figure. A crack to the back of the left shoulder. Dirt to centre of forehead. There is a hole to the top of the head. Red staining to the mouth. A 19th Century Bohemian Amber Crystal glass goblet with bell shaped bowl, the top half cut with six discs, each etched, each marked "Julia", "Liebe" with image of a bird upon a bridge, "Gezunheit" with a serpent wrapped around a stick, "Eintracht" with an image of two columns and two trees, "Gluck" with an image of flowers in a vase, "Und Freute" with the image of musical instruments, the lower half of the goblet facet cut with star-cut base,14.5 cm high(Provenance: the property of the Raymond Barker family late of Fairford Park Gloucestershire) CONDITION REPORTS One long thin chip to the rim, various smaller chips to the rim. A William and Mary silver taper stick, the turned column to square base with canted corners with engraved armorial to one corner (by Thomas Brydon, London, 1697), approx 3.7 oz, approx 9.7 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Has some surface scratching, the base is slightly wobbly and the stick is not quite straight. Has some black marks to the base, has been polished thoroughly. The armorial to one of the canted corners is worn and there are a few pinhead holes. General wear and tear to include surface scratches etc - see images for further details
