An exceptional early 19th Century bow fronted Mahogany stick barometer by Dolland, London. The silvered scale is in excellent condition as is the whole instrument. By the style and design of this magnificent barometer we understand it to have been made by George Dolland, 1771-1856, instrument maker to William IV and Queen Victoria
Pre-Columbian, Peru, Chimu, ca. 1000 to 1200 CE. An elegant loom stick carved from a hard wood, adorned with a perched bird atop - most likely representing a parrot with a curved beak, large round incised eyes, detailed feathered plumage, and adorable legs/feet.
