A 19th Century elm and beech stick back Windsor chair with crinoline stretcher, together with a further Windsor stick back chair stamped "G Wilson Grantham" to seat CONDITION REPORTS Chair 1: Should read "yew wood and elm", back splat with vertical splits, back rail with split top left, right arm with split along the grain. Spindles all appear original, though with some shrinkage and signs of original shellac. Seat appears sound, though with wear and tear. Front left leg original yew wood, remaining legs and crinoline stretcher in beech replacements.Chair 2: In ash and elm with woodworm (old and treated) to centre rail/arms. Otherwise seat rails and arms basically sound. Front legs appear original, as do stretchers, though rear legs very clean and almost certainly repalcements - both chairs as described and with general wear and tear conducive with age and regular use.
