A late 19th century Japanese netsuke from Meiji period. Signed Gyokuzan. In carved elephant ivory portraying a group of traditional Japanese characters composed by 'Ashinaga', a father with his child with a freshly caught octopus at their feet. The father brings a basket tied to his waist, and holds a stick with his right hand and a drum with the left one, 9,3x2,5x2,3 cm. 29,07 gr. Published on Mateu Guillem, "NETSUKE.
