The Cantonese fan with thirteen delicately carved ivory sticks of almost translucent quality depicting different motifs and figures on each separate stick. The two ivory guards (main sticks), showing everyday scenes with various people including scholars and farmers. The hand-painted leaves, displaying various figures with ivory inlaid faces and their robes made of silk. The brass holder, attached to the rivet. Comes with a fitted hand-painted black lacquer box.Condition: Fan in very good condition with minor wear. Some wear to the black lacquer of the box and damages to the cardboard inside the box.
