The patinated bamboo mahl stick of Joseph Wright (1734-1794), called 'Wright of Derby', 92cm long ú150-250 Offered together with the Catalogue of the Exhibition of Paintings by Joseph Wright at the Derby Corporation Art Gallery, 1883 which included this mahl stick Provenance: by Bemrosefamily descent William Bemrose was married to the great granddaughter of Jospeh Wright. He was a leading member of Derby society and a well known printer in addition to being a discerning collector and patron of the Arts. He bequeathed the majority of his paintings, including a collection of works by Wright to the Derby Museum
