Of Arctic Expedition Interest a marine ivory carving of a whale, 9cm long, baltic painted bowl with geometric design, 13.5cm, a marine ivory walking stick handle carved as a hound and hare, 89cm high and a whaling harpoon (19th century), 208cm long (4) Provenance: William McDougall (Pilot) On board HMS Alert, led by Captain George Strong Nares (later Sir George Strong Nares) This expedition was sent by the British Admiralty to attempt to reach the North Pole in 1875 - 1876, along with HMS Discovery, both ships failed in their attempt however they collected a large amount of scientific information off the coasts of Greenland and Ellesmere Island
An Indian painted walking cane of cylindrical tapering form with alternate bands of red and black floral, yellow and red scrolls, and an African tribal walking stick with mask head terminal to a tapering pointed shaft CONDITION REPORTS The painted walking cane is worn and rubbed with use especially to the bottom end. The African stick has general ware and a split to the back.

Keys: one with piece of ivory missing, five keys "stick" and three don't produce any sound at all. Would strongly recommend a piano specialist looks at it for a full condition report and service.
