Caitriona Moore (b.1981) BEAR ink and coloured pencil 11.25 by 8in. (28.6 by 20.3cm) Born in Dublin, Moore graduated from NCAD in 2003 with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Painting. In 2001 she was awarded a scholarship to Rhode Island School of Design in the United States. Moore works as an illustrator and art teacher. "I enjoy twisting the line between fairy-tale fantastic (fiction) and the domestic, mundane everyday (reality) truth", says Moore. Her images "… draw mainly on themes of socialisation, moral fables and myths, the use of the narrative and the storytelling tradition…". Moore was the recipient of the CAP Foundation award in 2003.

Comprising a bear playing a double bass, a donkey playing a cello and a goat and monkey each playing a violin. Pale blue printed marks, largest 13cm high. Condition Report. Circa 1940/50s Chiltern Hugmee Teddy Bear, with black stitched nose, glass eyes, velvet pads, stitched claws, 46cmSome discolouring/staining to the velvet pads. Slight rubbing to plush mainly to the centre seam on the front. Both hand paws have either had some areas re-stitched or are loose.
HILL ROWLAND: (1795-1879) British Social Reformer, credited with originating the basic concepts of the modern postal service, including the invention of the postage stamp, through his comprehensive reform of the postal system. A.L.S., Rowland Hill, one page, 8vo, London, 21st March 1862, to T. B. Horsfall M.P., on the blind embossed stationery of the Post Office. Hill acknowledges receipt of Horsfall's letter 'of this day's date' and remarks that 'the matter shall at once receive attention'. With blank integral leaf. Accompanied by the original envelope hand addressed by Hill and signed ('Rowland Hill') by him to the lower left corner. The envelope does not bear a postage stamp but has an 'Official Paid' postmark and bears the printed coat of arms of the General Post Office to the verso. A very light, vertical thin strip of discoloration appears at the centre of the letter, otherwise VG Thomas Berry Horsfall (1805-1878) British Politician, Member of Parliament for Derby 1852 and for Liverpool 1853-65. Lord Mayor of Liverpool 1847-48.
