Taxidermy intrest. A superb polar bear skin rug L. 250cm W. 249cm. Prov: originally preserved for Gareth Howard, author of Dew Line Doctor, who worked at Baffin Base, Canada and others and came to know this polar bear as it regularly visited the camp and is featured in a photgraph opposite page 81. Sadly the bear and her cub died of unknown natural causes so Howerd arranged with a local taxidermist for her to be preserved as a rug and the cub whole. Unfortunately, due to careless storage, the cub was destroyed by rodents but the rug remains in excellent condition.
