1904 (April) postcard from Captain Robert Falcon Scott, Antarctica to Ireland. Wrench's picture postcard for the 1901-04 British Antarctic Expedition, addressed in Scott's hand to a Mrs Wrench in Ballybrack, Co. Dublin (possibly a relation of the publisher of the card). Wrench's issued four postcards to be posted at different stages of the expedition to subscribers who helped finance the venture. This example was posted at Christchurch, New Zealand on the return journey. The illustration on the card erroneously shows a polar bear which is native to the Arctic only.

An interesting American silver Christening set comprising a mug, bowl and plate, the mug engraved with four children saying Grace over their supper, the bowl engraved with children riding various animals, such as an Eskimo child riding a stag, a Russian child riding a bear and so forth, the plate engraved with children at the dining table interspersed with the words 'A child should always say what's true and speak when he is spoken to / And behave mannerly at the table, at least as far as he is able', all engraved with the cipher RCH, the plate engraved with inscription to the underside, marked Gorham and Bigelow Kennard & Co, Sterling, 403gms gross
