A small Chinese brown patinated bronze cylindrical censer, the exterior cast in relief and decorated in gilt with mythical beasts, animals and various symbols, on a textured wave pattern ground, raised on three circular dome pattern feet, 4ins (10.2cm) diameter x 3.5ins (9.0cm) high (unmarked)Condition - This is a reasonable quality censer. The casting is reasonably well defined but not particularly crisp. It has a decorative mid-brown patination and the raised decoration to the exterior is gilded, which is a little rubbed and marked in places. This does not bear any mark at all and it is our suggestion that this possibly 19th/20th Century.
