A pair of late 19th Century jar and covers each panel decorated with hand painted Watteauesque scenes of courting couples within garden settings, flanked with panels of hand painted floral sprays against a black ground, each with gilt scroll borders, the domed cover with similar decoration, both bear Augustus Rex marks, height 46cm, one cover S/D.
Devensian Period, 110,000-12,000 years BP. A cave bear claw, Ursus speleus Linné from Cioclovina, Hateg, Romania; in display box with perspex window. 75 grams, 11cm including box (4 1/4"). From an old Bristol paleontological collection, acquired 1950s-1960s. Cave bear teeth are reasonably common, but claws are rare. [No Reserve] Fine condition.

A Sapphire and Diamond Brooch, an oval cut sapphire in a white claw setting, within a milgrain frame set throughout with old cut diamonds, total estimated diamond weight 3.90 carat approximately, measures 4.8cm by 2.5cm see illustration The brooch is in good condition. It fastens with a pin and barrel clasp. The pin and frame bear a partially struck guarentee mark, possibly French 18 carat gold guarentee mark. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour G/H/I , clarity SI1/S2/I1. The sapphire measures 9.6mm x 8.7mm x 4.6mm approximately. Gross weight 12.6 grams. An 18 Carat Gold Diamond and Sapphire Spray Brooch, formed of seven leaves each set with a band of round brilliant cut diamonds and round cut sapphires in yellow claw settings, total estimated diamond weight 0.75 carat approximately, measures 6.0cm by 4.5cm see illustration The brooch is in good condition. It is hallmarked London, 1970 but does not bear a maker's mark. It fastens with a pin and safety catch and features a safety chain. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour G/H/I, clarity SI1/SI2. Gross weight 28.8 grams. Condition Report made 9th December 2016.
