A 19th century carved Black Forest model of a bear standing four square, length 38cm, height 25cm. CONDITION REPORT: A few scuffs to the raised points, mainly to feet, ears and hind legs, there is a natural split in the wood by the left ear, the eyes and teeth are present, two tiny sections missing to the lips but overall maintains a good colour and original order.
A pale gold fully jointed teddy bear with a pointed nose and slight hump. Re-stitched eyes. Wearing his original metal tag "Teddy Nov 11th 1918 Bought for Kathleen Milnes Netherseale Burton-on-Trent". Bought to commemorate the end of the First World War. The bear was treasured by Kathleen Milnes (May 1918-2011). His wardrobe of knitted clothes made by the child and her mother. He also wears her Girl Guide Whistle. Sold with a later seated mohair bear. Teddy H 16in, sold with original photograph of Kathleen as a child and as a young woman.
