Joe Austin Kakarook (XIX-XX) A late 19th/early 20th century Inuit carved walrus tusk:, one side with two landscape panels, one with a boy stalking wildfowl and a farmer herding chickens, the other of a umiak being pulled by Caribou, signed 'Kakarook Joe', the reverse decorated with a wolf chasing a caribou, a bear cub, depictions of small mammals, and pictograhs of a hunting group returning to a village, 56cm long
An Inuit Walrus tusk cribbage board the top relief carved with polar bear in trap and walrus head, the centre with drilled holes for cribbage board, a sliding door to one end, opening to reveal a compartment for the pegs (four present), the board on a curved wooden base, approximately 20in. (51cm. ) long. *Condition:in excellent condition, with no issues found, age related wear.
A 19th century Swiss silver mounted cut glass condiment pot Switzerland Bear mark for Bern, struck twice, maker's mark 'FB' in oval, struck twice to base, the circular base with Greek key design to rim, the stand raised on three hoof and leaf feet, terminating in winged angels on upper legs, the hobnail glass jar fitting snugly, the lift off lid with central flower design, topped by lifting ring, 6¬in. (15.8cm.) high, weight without glass 5 tr.oz *Condition: the jar with chips and nibbles to rim, possibly later hallmarks, otherwise good.
Three unboxed vintage Japanese battery operated tinplate toys including a Yonezawa (Japan) Mother Bear figure, seated on a tinplate chair, feeding a baby bear, an Iwaya Bear figure seated on a tinplate rocking chair, reading and smoking a pipe, together with an Alps Drumming Clown figure.. All untested and generally would appear to have clean battery terminals although the Iwaya Bear does have corrosion to the battery compartment door. Please be advised that these toys have been on display for a considerable period of time and may need some coaxing to function correctly. Furthermore it is inadvisable to use modern batteries in these toys. (3)
Three unboxed vintage battery operated tinplate toys including a Walking Bear pulling a tinplate cart which has a litho of an airmail envelope with the word 'Gift' written on the upper side of the cart, a Modern Toys (Japan) Bear figure with telephone, seated on a tinplate chair and another 'walking' figure holding a bell and blue plastic 'balloon', with a label attached to shirt stating 'Made in Japan'. All untested and except for the latter figure, which has corrosion to battery box, would appear to have clean battery compartments. Please be advised that these toys have been on display for a considerable period of time and may need some coaxing to function correctly. Furthermore it is inadvisable to use modern batteries in these toys. (3)
Three unboxed vintage Japanese battery operated tinplate toys including an A1 Toys 'Blacksmith Bear', a similar 'Smithy' bear figure, together with an Alps tinplate Car with Driver figure.. A battery operated plastic clown figure with whistle, approximately 40cm tall, is also included as part of this lot. All untested and generally all would appear to have clean battery compartments except for the 'Smithy' which does have some corrosion. Please be advised that these toys have been on display for a considerable period of time and may need some coaxing to function correctly.
