THE LORD BALLIOL - CASK NO. 1 A limited edition bottling of 20 year old Sherry cask matured single malt scotch whisky, believed to be Glenfarclas. 70cl. 46% abv. Distilled in 1986. Bottle no. 41 of 282 bottles. The bottle and the presentation box bear the legend "My sweet, silent, companion" which refers to Dervorgilla Lady of Galloway who had her husband John Balliol's heart embalmed and placed in a silver and ivory casket which she held close to her for 20 years and on her own death was buried with it. Level mid-low neck. Excellent condition. 1 bottle.
A Victorian silver centre seconds chronograph pocket watch, the white enamel dial with outer 1/5th seconds track, black Roman numerals, gold spade hands, and fine centre seconds hand, slide button on band to set, the jewelled three quarter plate English lever movement, signed no.84110, key wound, the case hallmarked Chester 1890, the case 55mm diameter, together with a Swiss silver open faced cylinder pocket watch, retailed by John Myers & Co., the case 48mm diameter (2) MOVEMENT: bimetallic split balance, flat blued steel balance spring, pointed tooth escape wheel and tangential pallets, escapement bridge finely engraved, movement and chronograph functioning at time of cataloguing. Second watch not functioning. CASE: good solid case, fully hallmarked, cuvette presentation engraved, crystal with a few deep scratches. Second watch triple bear marked .935 standard, crystal scratched DIAL: repair to enamel at 8, fracture to chapter ring at 10. No issues on second
