A Worcester blue and white butter tub with cover and stand c.1765-70, the tub printed with the Three Flowers pattern, the stand with the Rose-Centred Spray Group, the twig handles issuing from applied flowers and leaves, hatched crescent marks, 19cm. (3) Although both these patterns bear similarities and were sometimes used in conjunction, it is likely that the stand is associated to the tub.
Lots 228-236Items formerly belonging to Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin (1812-1852)Following his untimely death, these were inherited by his third wife and widow of 57 years, Jane Knill, the great-great-grandmother of the current vendors. When Pugin's former home, 'The Grange' in Ramsgate, passed to the Benedictine monks in 1928, Charles Pugin Purcell (the vendor's grandfather) inherited the contents.These items have remained in the Pugin family and thus have not previously appeared on the market. Some items were, however, exhibited in 1994 at the Victoria and Albert Museum's exhibition, 'Pugin: A Gothic Passion', and in the US in 1995/96 at the Bard Graduate Center for Studies in the Decorative Arts exhibition, 'A W N Pugin: Master of Gothic Revival'.The metalwares included in this auction were all designed by Pugin for his own use at The Grange in Ramsgate, accordingly they bear his coat of arms, were in his possession and have been used and handled by him.A brass altar vas

A Steiff Bear circa 1910, the pale gold mohair teddy bear with boot button eyes and horizontally stitched nose, left ear with Steiff button, jointed body with replaced pads and stitched claw detail, wood-wool stuffing (feet shortened, very worn), 46cm long Note: Given to the current vendor's father by his grandfather on his 3rd birthday in 1910. Two original photographs of the young boy holding his new Steiff bear accompany this lot.
