A rare Chiltern Pindar Panda teddy bear 1930s, with white mohair head and lower body, black velvet chest and jointed limbs, white and black googly eyes, felt discs behind, felt ears, black stitched nose, white stitched claws and inoperative squeaker —12 1/2in. (32cm.) high (slight thinning and wear) - No. 1277 - Pindar the Panda is a character created and written by Peter Howard, and illustrated by David Low, the political cartoonist. Pindar's story appeared in London's Evening Standard newspaper each day in the late 1930s.

(76cm.) high (pads replaces, ears probably replaced, balding to legs and chest, and general wear) - purchased from an auction in Barnard Castle, a handwritten note with him speculates his life’s journey and the fact he had suffered from a dog attack, Susan lovingly restored him and found some early printed matter in his long growler, which were dated 1907 and 1912, all this information is held in a shoulder bag

Jeweils eine hügelige Landschaft vorstellend mit akzentuierter Beleuchtung und in Bewegung versetztem Gewässer. Vor bewölktem Himmel und repoussoirhaft wirkendem Baumbestand jeweils eine Gruppe von Jagdhunden mehrere Bären reißend. Fell, Ausdruck und Bewegung sind genau beobachtet, sicherlich in zahlreichen Studien vorbereitet und auf Leinwand gebannt. Ruthart war zunächst in Antwerpen tätig, bevor er nach Wien und dann 1672 nach Italien ging. Seine besonders in Deutschland geschätzten Tiergruppen wurden nicht selten in Landschaften von Wilhelm Schubert van Ehrenberg gesetzt, mit dem er zusammenarbeitete. Maße ohne Basis: 248 x 102 x 102 cm.Ukraine, Pleistozän, 60.000 Jahre alt.Dieser riesige Höhlenbär, der bis zu 2,5 Meter groß wurde, fesselt die Fantasie mit seiner furchteinflößenden Präsenz. Der Name Höhlenbär leitet sich von einer Fülle von Fossilien ab, die in Höhlen konserviert wurden, in denen die Bären vermutlich ihren Winterschlaf hielten. Dieses bemerkenswert gut erhaltene Exemplar ist zu über 90 % vollständig erhalten und wurde nur leicht restauriert. Der erwachsene Höhlenbär ist auf einer speziell angefertigten, schwarzen Basis in einer wilden Kampfhaltung montiert.Ursus spelaeus lebte vermutlich das ganze Jahr über in Höhlen und war etwa 30 % größer als der heutige Durchschnittsbär, mit einer höheren Stirn und weniger Prämolaren. Diese beeindruckende Kreatur war eng mit dem modernen Braunbären verwandt. Höhlenbären waren für die Neandertaler von großer Bedeutung, die Bären jagten und ihre Überreste bei rituellen Praktiken verwendeten. Höhlenbären waren vor dem Höhepunkt der letzten Eiszeit vor 25.000 Jahren weit verbreitet und haben möglicherweise bis vor 12.000 Jahren gelebt. The name cave bear derives from a wealth of fossils preserved in caves where the bears are believed to have hibernated. A pair of 19th Century Chinese coral red decorated porcelain bowls of inverted bell form, raised on a circular foot, the main body decorated with lotus medallion and scrolling foliage, bear six character "Jongzheng" mark to base (one with large hairline crack, the other very damaged but pieces extant) 7 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Bowl 1 - with two sections dislodged, previously mended but have come loose. An S.S. Allach Porcelain Berlin Bear. A beautiful example of the Berlin bear, all in white standing 200mm in height, having the classic SS Allach logo fired into the glaze with the designers name F. Nagy as part of the mould. The piece is in a entirely undamaged condition, it has never been repaired, very good condition £600-£800 --- In the history of Allach porcelain, the manufacture was created by the SS in 1935 to demonstrate to the world the high quality of German artisans, especially in porcelain manufacture. Created by Heinrich Himmler in the small village of Allach, which is right next to the Dachau Concentration Camp, they produced a huge series of political and military figures as well as many animals, many in white and very few in colour.
