With circa. £7,000 spent in the last few years, £2000 of that recently with the renowned 240Z specialists “Fourways Engineering”, having the suspension over hauled and a general service (copies of bills available). This incredibly rare Right Hand Drive Datsun 240Z Rally car is in very sound condition and in the vendors words, along with its RAC Historic Rally papers, “It is ready to go and be used in its natural habitat, a rally this weekend!”Last used in the Welsh Classic Rally Championship, other than its seat belts as they used to have a time life for scrutineering for Classic Historic entries (and indeed all Rally’s) but there was talk about removing this requirement, every other part of the car complies to the rigid requirements the RAC MSA place on these cars. Mechanically everything is stated as good. Body work has survived very well, but no its not a showroom car or a trailer queen, it’s a “Rally Car” and as such will bear the marks of competition here and there.Built using a very solid low mileage shell and was MOT’d for roads use last in March 2011 with 95,993 miles recorded, this ready to go rally car could be restored back to its road going roots and let’s face it, a rusted out old 240Z would sell for nearly as much as where the reserve has been set on this one!A genuine bargain to be had!NOTE: Vendor tells us that there are 8 spare rims with tyres etc and a few spares that will go with the car to the successful buyer. We are also told that the belts would need to be changed and depending on the class to be run in, possibly seats and an extra “diagonal” in the roll cage.
