An Alpha Farnell teddy bear circa 1930, with dark blonde mohair, clear and black glass eye, pronounced muzzle, black stitched nose and mouth, swivel head, jointed limbs with felt pads, slight hump, inoperative squeaker, blue and white woven label on foot and red knitted romper -11 1/2in. (29cm.) high (missing eye, neck joint needs attention and hole in one foot pad) - this bear belonged to the father of the owner of the previous lot, Angus Hood. It had been presented to him in the 1920/30s as a mascot for when he rode in many Point to Points before WW 2. The bear was given to him by a lady friend. It was packed away carefully until after the war by which time David was too old for him to play with it.
The childhood Farnell teddy bear of Margaret Bailey 1930s, with light golden mohair, stitched eyes, pronounced muzzle, black stitched nose and mouth, swivel head, jointed limbs, rounded hump and green knitted outfit -13 1/2in. (34cm.) high (balding and wear, missing eyes); a photograph of Margaret aged about 2; and a composition doll - Margaret was born on the 6th January 1931 and was given the bear for her third birthday, she was born in Westbourne near Emsworth and remained living there until she died in 2020; with letter of provenance from her niece

An early Steiff centre-seam teddy bear circa 1905, possibly a 35PAB with apricot golden mohair, black boot button nose, pronounced unclipped muzzle, black stitched nose, mouth and claws, swivel head, jointed elongated limbs with felt pads, card lined feet, hump and body with soft stuffing -19 1/2in. (50cm.) high (lacking some stuffing, right eye needs pulling tight, damage to three pads, dusty and minimal wear) - this bear probably would have had a blank button, his nose is unclipped and unshaped of the pre 1906 Steiff bear, likewise he has soft stuffing, unusually he has four claws of the post 1906 bears, so probably a transitional designed bear
A rare Merrythought Bobby Bruin teddy bear circa 1935, with golden mohair, replaced orange and black glass eyes, pronounced muzzle, black stitched nose, mouth, webbed hand claws and feet claws, swivel head, jointed arms with brown felt circular pads, rod jointed posable legs with brown felt card lined pads and inoperative squeaker -22in. (56cm.) high (balding and general wear and thinning, some damage and repairs to feet pads, faded)
