Early 19th century Spode blue and white transfer printed Indian Sporting Series two-handled chestnut basket of circular form, 'Death of a Bear'. Impressed mark 'Spode 9' to base. 23cm diameter approximately. (B.P. 21% + VAT) Consigned from a large home counties of England estate collection. Evidence of crazing in places. Some minor scratches and surface wear as expected with age, fine small hair crack near one handle areas and one handle seems to be restored.
19th century mahogany travelling or campaign apothecaries cabinet having recessed carrying handle, two fitted doors opening to reveal an interior of graduated drawers with compartments and glass jars and bottles, fitted, over a lower drawer with recessed brass handles. Bear label 'Prize medal 1862 for excellence of manufacture, Savory & Moore Chemist to the Queen, London'. 32 x 20 x 40cm approximately. (B.P. 21% + VAT) (B.P. 21% + VAT) Horizontal split in back, one door cracked down either edge, mouldings missing from either side of drawer, brass is tarnished. Edging to drawer missing in places, not all bottles are original - scuffed and worn with age and use.
