A Netsuke modelled as a cicada of a flattened leaf which appears to bear a Sanscrit character beneath, details are finely rendered, unsigned, Meiji period. We have been uable to conclusively test the material that this lot is made from. In our opinion, this lot has the appearance of stained ivory, but it could be manufactured from a type of horn. Dreweatts are unabale to provide any further comment on the material of this lot.
