Four Royal Copenhagen polar bear models, a Copenhagen mouse on a rock and a blue mouse on cheese. (6) Condition Report Both individual bears are in good condition though both bases are dirty and both bears are marked to left hand side towards the base. Both back left ears are rubbed. Mouse on mound appears in good condition other than a very slight chip to its right ear. Firing crack between polar bears two hind legs. Two bears fighting appears in very good condition.

A pair of Sèvres porcelain and gilt bronze mounted urns, each decorated with figures in a garden setting within an enamel bejewelled border on a bleu-celeste ground with panels of flowers and musical instruments / garden tools verso, bear blue crossed L marks with letter A for 1753 and decorator's mark "EC" to underside of lid, 30 cm high CONDITION REPORTS One lid broken into numerous pieces and with cracks, chips and losses which have been fillered and over--painted, paint very yellowed and discoloured, other lid with firing cracks around underside of rim, various losses to the jewelled deocration to both lids. One urn with several large discoloured cracks/breaks to both sides, some glue to cracks, some losses to jewelled decoration. Both urns and lids have at some time in the past been restored and over-painted - this appears to have been professionally carried out and it is not possible to ascertain the extent of damage beneath the restoration.

A pair of Chinese Guangxu blue and white saucers decorated with eight Immortals raised on a circular foot, bears blue under-glazed four character mark (Fuji Man Tang - Halls of Happiness) and label "Kendall Collection CH137", 13.3 cm diameter CONDITION REPORTS Overall with some general wear and scuffs, some irregularities to the potting and some firing and potting faults including to rims, some pitting to glaze, some pitting and small black marks to rims, bear circular paper labels verso inscribed "Kendall Collection" and hand-written "CH137", generally appear sound.

A pair of Elizabeth II 1953 Coronation chairs with upholstered back and seat on an oak frame CONDITION REPORTS There is no plaque, but they are both branded to the seat frame, and bear impressed date "1953" (one date is indistinct and there appear to have been several attempts to impress the numbers), an impressed mark to one of the brackets to underside (see photos) to each chair. One chair has a faintly impressed maker's name "North & Sons of West Wycombe" to the seat frame. Two small screw holes to the underside of the frame to each chair. Some movement to joints. Both with some wear and scuffs, and one chair leg with quite pronounced scratches/scuffs. Fabric with some wear, dirt and deposits, and one seat with a small burn mark. Gimp (braid) coming loose at one end. Some regluing to the gimp. Generally, however, condition appears reasonably good.

SIR WINSTON CHURCHILL (1874-1965) "The Second World War", six volumes by Winston S. Churchill, each volume signed and inscribed to Miss Mabel Johnson, O.B.E. Miss Mabel Johnson worked for the British Red Cross alongside Lady Spencer Churchill organising Russian food convoys during World War II, and became friends. As a result of this Lady Spencer Churchill gave Mabel Johnson this set of books. Included with this lot is a photograph of Miss M. Johnson beside Lady Churchill talking to a Russian Diplomat in 1943, an oil portrait of Miss M. Johnson, in a glazed frame, Miss Johnson's OBE and miniature First World War medals, and various newspaper cuttings. The Times, Monday June 27th 1955. Lady Churchill writes: "Miss Mabel Johnson, OBE, worked for the British Red Cross Society in both great wars. In the years between she was a member of the Conservative Central Office and held the post of Constituency Organiser and afterwards District Agent for the North and North West of England. She was well-known and well-loved by all who had to do with her in this work. In the First World War she was a member of a Red Cross Ambulance Unit, one of the women who replaced the men drivers in the lines of communication and were known for their energy and fearlessness. Miss Johnson returned to the Red Cross and the Order of St. John in the early days of World War Two; there she distinguished herself as a first class organiser, notably as secretary to the Central Hospital Supply Service and later in the War as Director of Civilian Relief. But it is of Miss Johnson's work for Russia that I can write with personal knowledge. In 1941 she became secretary of the Red Cross Aid to Russia Fund and in 1944 she went to Russia to establish Red Cross contacts. Her visit was a solid achievement and the next year we went to Russia together as guests of the Soviet Government. During the years 1941-1948 links were forged and strengthened between the two societies, largely by Miss Johnson's capacity, her training, her knowledge, and her lovable nature; these links have, alas, been frozen by the 'Cold War', but perhaps the seed industriously sowed and fostered may be alive, though buried, and may bear fruit some day. Miss Johnson was an officer of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem. She also held two Russian declarations, the medal of the Red Banner of Labour and Distinguished Service Badge of the Russian Red Cross and Red Crescent." Lot 1492
A Victorian walnut pedestal sideboard, with rear upstand, plate glass top and fitted with a frieze drawer flanked on either side by a panelled cupboard with corbals and raised on a plinth base. Width 79 ins. CONDITION REPORT: The sideboard is in generally very good condition. It is however a base from a larger piece and will at some point have had a superstructure. The left hand door has a piece of moulding from the top left hand panel which is loose. We have the piece. The centre drawer is in good order as is the right hand cupboard door. The sides of the piece are in very good condition as is the back. The plinth base is in good order also. The item could be used or resold in its current condition without the need for any repair or restoration but as stated please bear in mind that the piece has had a mirror back and that there are four dowel hole repairs in the top and marks where the back has been supported.
