A collection of boxed Royal Crown Derby Mostly Imari, bone china paperweights and small vases and boxes, including, a signed Julie Towell "Old Imari Frog" ltd ed 2295/4500,(SS), A Louise Adams signed and dated Partridge, (GS), Mullbery Hall, Georgian Town House, (CS), James & Emma (No Stoppers), Derby Ram (GS) Humming Bird (GS), Puffin (SS), Teddy Bear (SS), Bluetit, (SS) and other small boxed items (12) These items formed part of the collection of the late Peter John Mitchell of the West Midlands.Peter found an interest/ fascination later in life in the collecting of any manner of items and was a regular and well-loved attendee at the local auction houses in and around the West Midlands and sometimes further afield. He had a good eye for detail and an appreciation of quality, coupled with a discernment for the finer things in life, namely fine writing equipment mostly by the prestigious manufacturer Mont Blanc and extending in a very large way to his passion for Royal Crown Derby especially his beloved “Old Imari” pattern 1128 and of course Waterford crystal. As can be seen from the breadth of items in his porcelain collection he enjoyed his chosen fields and was an active buyer, and I am sure he would have approved of the items we curated for his estate in his absence.James Lees

An early 19th century silver double-ended desk seal, hallmarks rubbed, of tapering chamfered form, the narrow end with crest depicting a dragon, the opposing end with shield shaped crest engraved with three goats in profile, 46mm high, the small matrix 13.3mm wide, 13.1mm high, the opposing end 19.2mm wide, 19.5mm high Note- the Arms and crest are those of Mann, as of Linton, co. Kent, and of Norwich. Descended from Edward Mann esq. of Ipswich, Comptroller of Customs in the time of Charles I, whose grandson was Thomas Mann of the Inner Temple and Usher of the Rolls, whose son, Robert, purchased estates at Linton in Kent. Robert's second son, Horatio Mann, KB, was an Envoy-Extraordinary and Minister-Plenipotentiary to the Court of Florence, in which city he remained for 46 years. He was created a baronet in 1755, dying there in 1786. He was succeeded by his nephew, Sir Horace, 2nd Baronet, who married the daughter of the Earl of Gainsborough but died without heirs in 1814 when the baronetcy expired. This seal, however, does not bear the badge of a Baronet, and was almost certainly made for a descendant of one of the four brothers of Robert Mann who purchased Linton.
