Starter Models - MPH Models - # 612 - A boxed 1:43 scale resin model of a 1961 Ferrari TR 61 made by Starter Models and then extensively hand finished and detailed by Tim Dyke. There is a list of 102 detail changes and improvements made which include; no. 51 gear lever cut from stainless steel pin, no. 69 original kit spot lamps discarded and replaced with Meri lenses, no. 99 over sized windscreen wipers cut down and painted. The detail has to be seen to be appreciated if your eyes are good enough ! The car appears in Mint condition in the original Starter branded red and white box which is in excellent condition with a detailed list of work carried out, a printed history of the car and a signed card to show that this is number 17 of the run of 25 cars made in October 1991 and Starter, MPH Models, Tim Dyke - A boxed Starter / MPH Models #450 Ferrari 375MM Spyder Le Mans Winner 1954 F.Gonzales / M.Trintignant 2523.48 Miles at 105.14 mph. An elaborately detailed 1:43 Starter resin and alloy kit which was modified by Tim Dyke in August 1990, and is a Limited Edition model numbered 5 of only 25 produced, and comes with hand signed certificate / card. The model finished in the iconic 'rosso corsa' with RN4 has 52 detailed modifications / special features. These modifications include "Front wing air outlets - filled in and re-cut to correct proportions and position"; "Wheels - painted silver, laminated brake drums added"; "Exhaust - badly moulded tail pipes removed, new tail pipes made from aluminium tube" and much more. Many of the minute modifications are only visible under close examination. The model is marked to the underside 'Ferrari 375MM Starter Made in France 1/43 Maquette Goupille M.' and also features the MPH Models logo. Housed in a Very Good 'Starter' branded cardboard box with MPH branding, the model also contains documentation which outlines details of the actual car, as well a list of the unbelievable modifications made by Tim Dyke, along with a photo etched plaque contained in a clear plastic snap bag (This does not constitute a guarantee). The model in silver with RN19 contains a myriad of 207 detailed modifications which include "Aero screens - cowling narrowed, flattened, flange thickness reduced"; "Air brake - rams cut from s/s pins (de-burred)"; "Fire extinguisher - cast metal, hand polished"; "Exhaust - silencer box reshaped, dam pipes discarded and replaced with aluminium tubes" plus many many more outstanding details, many only visible very close examination. The model is marked to the underside 'Starter Mercedes 300SL Made in France and also features the MPH Models logo. This racing 'cat' featuring RN16, finished in silver was modified by Tim Dyke in November 1989, is a Limited Edition number 9 of a run of 25 produced, and comes with hand signed certificate / card. Some of Tim's fantastic special features / modifications include "Roof panel line - not on moulding, scribed in"; "Dashboard - re-positioned"; "Steering wheel - replaced with specially made p/e item, pierced spokes and laminated rim" etc. The attention to detail is illuminating! The model appears to be in Mint condition and comes with documents on the cars pedigree as well a list of all the modifications made.
