George III and his Father, a silver Box Medal for the Peace of Paris, 1763, by Jan van Nost, the screw-on lid inset with medallic portrait portrait of George II to left, the base inset with George III to right, his hair tied in a queue, 50mm. Very fine and very rare. Reference: British Historical Medals 89 [R3]; Medallic Illustrations 713/453. The Peace of Paris was concluded on the 10th February, 1763 and ratified on the 10th March. Box should contain a series of 60 roundels giving views and descriptions of the events of the Seven Years War, however such complete sets are excessively rare.
An Arts and Crafts matched amethyst suite of jewellery, comprising: a silver bracelet set five large emerald cut amethysts with small peridots either side on an ornate foliate box section silver bracelet, a mixed cut amethyst pendant, with tourmaline set naturalistic mount to a long fancy link chain, a pair of similarly set earrings and a ring (5).
A late George III diamond set floral tremblant brooch, the centre flower head set with a cushion shaped diamond within a graduated diamond surround and with eight diamond set petals, with repeated diamond set decoration overall and set in silver on gold, 9cm high. In fitted and dilapidated box by S J Phillips.
CHRISTOPHER DRESSER (1834-1904), PICNIC SET, manufactured by Hukin and Heath, silver plate, comprising: a kettle and cover, 10cm high; a teapot and cover, 8.5cm high; a paraffin burner and stand; a sugar bowl; a milk jug; and a milk flask and cover, stamped marks 'Designed by Dr C Dresser', and 'H & H 2110', with registration mark for 1876, contained within oak fitted box. Box: 13cm high, 33cm wide, 17cm deep.
