A Victorian oval silver plated biscuit box with repoussé decoration of cavorting cherubs in Classical landscape setting, the base with cast foliate detail, height 16cm, diameter 19cm.Additional InformationThere is rubbing and loss to the silver plate in parts, there is a partial lift to the top of the lid where there is a bit of solder missing, the hinge is good. There are marks, scratches and chips to the glass inner liner. A key is present for the lock which is working at the point of cataloguing. General wear and tarnishing.

An Edwardian silver plated biscuit box of oval form with engine turned decoration, on four ball and claw supports, 18 x 20 x 15cm, and a similar smaller example by Elkington & Co with impressed marks to base (2).Additional InformationThe larger example has tarnishing to the inside, general wear and dirt with parts of the decoration rubbed, vacant cartouche. The smaller one is heavily rubbed with the nickel coming through the plate. Tarnishing, misshapen, heavy scratches to the lid, the lid closes well with slight lift, vacant cartouche.

The velvet inside liner is heavily worn with threading and pulling throughout. The silver plate is tarnished in parts with some scratches and marks. The second has the velvet worn inside and has a foot detached but present inside the casket, there is loss to the plate with heavy rubbing throughout, the lid is lightly ajar and does not close fully, the hinge looks to be in good order. The smaller lidded trinket box has heavy rubbing throughout with the brass base metal showing through.
