Lot 400

Elkington & Co., Birmingham, England. Salt set consisting of four small glass salt cellars with gilt flowers and sterling silver rims and four sterling silver spoons. Marked along the rim of the cellars and along the stem of the spoon. With a date mark of 1892. In a custom silk-lined storage case.Each, spoon: length: 2 3/4 in x diameter: 3/4 in. Each, pot; height: 1 1/2 in x diameter: 2 3/4 in. Case; height: 1 3/4 in x diameter: 7 1/2 in. Gross weight of cellars: 366.1 grams. Gross weight of spoons: 16.0 grams.Condition: The items are in good condition with no major dents, cracks, or losses. When inspected under UV light, none of the items who a sign of restoration. Light wear throughout. Light discoloration as expected, most noticeable along the underside. One of the silver rings is not firmly attached to the cellar. One of the cellars has an area with losses, smaller than 1/4 inch. Two of the spoons have an area that is lightly bent. Wear to the box; the lock does not work.

In a custom carrying case.Gross weight of silver: 159.8 g. Each, length: 5 1/4 in x width: 1 in.Condition: The items are in fair condition. Wear and discoloration throughout, as expected from age and use. All components are present; no visible cracks or losses. Old polish collected to recessed areas. When inspected under UV light, there is no visible sign of restoration. Wear to the box; clips work smoothly.

Mid-19th c. condiment set including two taller lidded vessels, two vessels with hinged lids and handles and with cobalt blue glass inserts, four vessels with cobalt blue glass inserts, and five small serving spoons. Each marked with maker's marks, city and country marks, and dated ca. 1846-47. One spoon is marked Elizabeth Eaton, two spoons are marked with an S,W, and H.Height ranges from 1 1/2 in to 3 1/4 in; diameter ranges from 1 1/2 in to 2 1/4 in. Spoons; length ranges from 2 1/2 in to 4 1/4 in. Gross weight of sterling: 11.4 Troy oz.Condition: The items are in generally good condition with no major cracks or chips, or visible losses. Light wear throughout, consistent with age and use. Light oxidation as expected. Three of the glass inserts have a crack and a chip to the rim. One of the two taller lidded vessels has a minute dent to the exterior. Scratches to the exterior of the glass inserts, against the silver components. Wear to the box; the clip works smoothly. No visible sign of restoration when inspected under UV light.

Ornament on rings, height: 1 1/2 in x width: 1 in. Box, height: 2 in x width: 8 3/4 in x depth: 4 3/4 in.Condition: The items are in good condition with no visible cracks or losses. Light wear and light discoloration throughout, as expected. No visible sign of restoration when inspected under UV light. Wear to the case; the lock smoothly works.

Sterling Box; height: 3 1/2 in x width: 1 1/2 in x depth: 3/4 in. Weight: 2.97 Troy oz. German 800 Silver Box; height: 4 1/4 in x width: 3 in x depth: 1/2 in. Weight: 129.6 grams.Condition: The silver cases are in good condition with no visible dents or losses, or major cracks. All cases open and close smoothly. No visible sign of restoration when inspected under UV light. Light wear throughout. Light oxidation and discoloration to metal components as expected. The enamel box is in fair condition and has several inner cracks throughout, most noticeably to the underside; however, please note that since these are inner cracks, the exterior surface is smooth. Dust collected along the interior. There is an area with cracks, possibly restored, to the left top of the lid; to the left of the area, there is a minute loss to red enamel.
