Two Victorian silver snuff boxes, one of shaped rectangular form with gilt interior, foliate-engraved to hinged top and initialled and inscribed to shaped cartouche, Birmingham 1852, maker William Devenport, the other of engine-turned rectangular form with foliate-cast edge to top and inscribed shield-shaped cartouche, Birmingham 1842, maker Francis Clark, approx 4.8ozCONDITION: Inscriptions read ' W.R.S. Rose Mount' and 'E.S. Metcalf 6.1.92'.The rectangular snuff box has numerals tiny dits around the sides and the the decoration around the cartouche on the lid is showing signs of wear.Both hallmarks clear but with some mild rubbing to the 'Metcalf' box.
