A Victorian rosewood and mother of pearl inlaid ladies travelling box, the mother of pearl plaque inscribed 'Edith Annie Ormond, A Remberance, Sept br VI 1887, the red velvet lined interior fitted with Irish silver plate mounts (stamped with sunburst and ES maker's marks) to pin tray, boxes, glass scent bottles and four mother of pearl mounted tools: a file, tweezers, pen knife and letter opener, with side and bottom concealed drawers, 30 cm x 23 cmEdith Annie Ormond (1859-1938) was the daughter of Rev John Ormond and Mary Susan Trinder. She did not marry and travelled extensively (often first class) throughout the world.

A mid-Victorian four dial mercury wheel barometer in a mahogany veneered case, Swan-neck pediment and moulded square base, recessed hygrometer with a circular silvered dial engraved �dry� �damp� with a brass bezel and flat glass, removable bow-fronted thermometer box with convex glass, mercury thermometer tube, recording from nought to one hundred and ten degrees fahrenheit on an engraved silver scale, brass thermometer bolt, twelve-inch silvered register engraved with weather predictions in Roman upper and lower case and Gothic script, barometric air pressure from twenty eight to thirty one inches in hundredths of an inch, richly engraved dial center, steel indicator hand and brass recording hand, with a cast brass bezel and concave glass, hand setting knob, level bubble recessed within an oblong frame and silvered plate engraved �John Vincent� �Weymouth�.John Vincent are recorded as a family firm of Jewellers, watchmakers and silversmiths trading from 74 and later 86 St Mary Street, Weymouth, from 1801-1914. Twelve-inch barometers were the largest size of domestic barometer produced.
An English 1930�s solid oak carved hall barometer in a scroll shaped carved case with applied floral and leaf carving, compensated Aneroid movement, eight-inch silver painted dial measuring barometric air pressure from twenty-six to thirty-one point nine inches, weather predictions written in black upper and lower case gothic script with a blue steel indicating hand and brass recording hand, brass dial bezel with flat bevelled glass, mercury thermometer enclosed in a glazed rectangular box recording temperature in degrees Fahrenheit and Celsius on a white porcelain register, dial inscribed �Made in England�
