A silver large rectangular cigarette box by Padgett & Braham Ltd, London 1946, with deep engine turned decoration and a lapis lazuli thumb piece, cedar lined, 23cm (9in) wide, loaded. See `Treasures of the 20th Century: Silver, jewellery and art medals from the 20th Century Collection of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths`, London 2000, p. 48, item 99 for a comparable box with deep engine turned surface and green onyx handle, London 1932, designed by Stanley Padgett.

OMAS, Marconi `100 Anni di Radio 1895-1995` limited edition fountain pen, prototype S029, circa 1995, with .925 standard silver cap and barrel finely engraved with intermittent bands, with rolled gold cap band and clip, the latter designed as a stylised Morse code wireless telegraphy key, and two colour 18 carat gold nib, in a wooden presentation box with outer card packaging and paperwork, together with a folio of design drawings. The Marconi was designed to commemorate 100 years of radio and the inventions and experiments of Guglielmo Marconi. This particular example honours one of his earliest experiments, in which he succeeded in transmitting a signal 2800m to Salisbury from his ship the Elettra. A brass plaque engraved with the image of the ship is riveted to the inside cover of the presentation box.
OMAS, Roma 2000 I II III Millennium limited edition three pen set, VIP editions, 1998, comprising two .925 standard silver and one vermeil fountain pens, each cast in relief with symbols relating to each respective millennium, the first (blind cap unglued) portrays a compass, the amanuensis monks, the castle of Matilde di Canossa, the coronation of Carlo Magni and the Nativity; the second (the vermeil) portrays a knight from the Crusades, Leonardo da Vinci, Columbus` ships, the steam engine, Einstein`s formula for the theory of relativity, and a missile representing space exploration; the third portrays astronomical symbols; each pen with a two colour 18 carat gold nib, piston filler, and in their presentation box with outer card packaging and paperwork. These pens were presented to the attendees of a special dinner, inclusive of the Mayor of Rome, held to launch the collection to the press. The collection was dedicated to the work of Roman sculptor, Gian Lorenzo Bernini (1598-1680), marking the 400th anniversary of his birth. OMAS, through the sale of these pens, funded the restoration of Bernini`s Fontana della Api on the Via Veneto as a part of the City`s preparations for the Millennium celebrations.
