Lot 369

A Victorian silver pill box, together with six silver topped scent bottles and a shell shaped caddy spoon. CONDITION REPORT: This lot contains a number of items. The small silver spoon in the shape of a shell is much discoloured, scratched and distressed to the underside. The small embossed silver pillbox again shows many signs of use with small dents to the underside, the lid does open and close securely and firmly. Structurally intact. Each of the glass perfume bottles have silver caps which open and close securely. Some lack their glass stopper. There are occasional chips to the glass bottles but overall they are all intact.

There is no personalised engraving present. There are noticeable dints and bruises along the sides of the cover. Additionally, there are a few instances of enamel loss. However, the glass remains in good condition.

A RARE RUSSIAN SILVER AND BLUE ENAMEL BOX by Carl Fabergé, Moscow, c.1896-1908, square, the hinged cover centred by a pink foil-backed cabochon-cut topaz on a silver scroll and anthemion overlay on a deep blue engine-turned enamel ground, the four sides set with scroll and anthemion overlay on corresponding engine-turned enamel grounds, stamped marks on the underside of the cover and base, scratched inventory number 19870 on the underside of the base. 4cm square, 90 grams grossThe enamel is in excellent condition without damage. There is a tiny dint to the side of the cover, but generally the box is in excellent condition.

Loss to the enamel within bowl of blue spoon. Scratches and blemishes to the surface of all enamel. Discolouration to reverse of all teaspoons, will need attention. Minor dents and general wear throughout all the silver spoons. Major discolouration to the box, and fastening faulty. Possible re-enamelling seen.
