A Micromosaic plaque mounted on a silver stamp box, circa 1840, the box James & Walter Marshall, Edinburgh, the plaque with a depiction of the Temple of Castor and Pollux, with various rectangular and shaped tesserae, some being two tone, mounted in a black glass surround, the box engraved on the sides with strapwork and raised on four ball feet, the gilt interior with a central division, the box 6.5cm wide, the plaque (excluding border) 35mm by 46mmGlass mount split in four places. Tesserae all sit flush and smooth but disturbed near two of the cracks of the mount. Box in good condition.
A Scottish hardstone bracelet, six cushion cut hardstone set links alternate with pierced links, length 17cm approximately The bracelet is in good condition. It is not hallmarked or stamped but in our opinion would test as silver. it fastens with a tongue and hardstone set box clasp, with safety chain. Gross weight 36.0 grams. Condition Report made 21st April 2017.
An 18th century Russian silver box and cover, Fyedor Petrov, assay master Adrei Andreyev, Moscow 1776, of compressed oval form, the sides and hinged cover chased with rococo mantling around cartouches, raised on four feet, the hinged cover mounted with a later rare medallion, 14cm wide, 9oz 9dwt The medallion is by A. Abramson, 1783, and commemorates the union of Crimea and Kuban with Russia. The obverse with a portrait of Catherine II, on the reverse the personified landscapes Crimea and Kuban kneel before Minerva with cornucopia and oil branch over S KLOPMAN, MDCCLXXXIII.Hinge not of the greatest quality and cover does not shut well. See images of the medallion for condition. Box with minute traces of gilt. Small repair to seam.
