While on holiday he saw a waterfall with water droplets sparkling in the sunshine. It inspired him to design a watch featuring diamonds freely moving between dial, bezel and sapphire crystal. Each diamond is set in a handmade white gold tube. The tube protrudes a few millimetres above the diamond's surface so the smooth edges glide against underside of the watch crystal without scratching. The slightest finger tap on the case causes the diamonds to move; this "tap test" remains the definitive test of authentic "Happy Diamonds".
