An Early 19th Century Chinese Silver Export-Ware Snuff Box: Stamped with pseudo-English marks, second quarter of 19th century, rectangular form profuse decorated with vignettes of Chinese figures carrying out their duties; the other side a temple/pagoda. W 6.7cm CONDITION REPORT: The overall condition + wear to the box is commensurate with the age. There are minor dents, (these are small) to the edges, and there is the slightest of bruises to left-hand, bottom corner. Interior of box good, with discolouration to seams/edges. Interior retains its gilding, original hinge open and shuts firmly. Rubbing to high points of detail, mainly to the faces and some spotting to the pagoda side. Weight 102.5g

A Modern Silver Gilt Cigar/Cigarette Box by Richard Jarvis & Ian Calvert, London 2005 Commemorating The Battle of Trafalgar Bicentenary: Of rectangular cushion form, cover applied with a porcelain plaque, under glass, depicting the battle within a rope-twist border, two further plaques, one depicting Nelson the other his arms and to each end with Prince of Wales plumed feathers issuing from a crown above a motto, raised on bracket feet embellished with simulated waves. H 12.5cm x W 17.5cm x L 26.5cm CONDITION REPORT: Good. With clear hallmarks.
A mid 19th Century Tunbridge ware sewing box of rectangular form, the cushion for lid with a mosaic view of a small castle within a broad band of floral mosaic, the concave sides with a broad band of leaf mosaic, the interior with mosaic border tray, re-fitted, and with a later set of six Tunbridge style reels and eight similar silk winders, with a few other accessories including silver thimble and silver thimble guard, box re-finished, 26 x 12 x 21.5cm deep.
A rare silver oval pocket snuffbox, the hinged lid engraved ‘M. Baxter’ over a vacant oval centre panel repeated on the reverse, Newcastle circa 1800 by John Robertson, 6.6cm. This interesting box features and is illustrated in Eric Deliebs book Silver Boxes illustrated plate 121. John Robertson is listed at 21,Dean Street,Newcastle and appears in Trade Directories from 1801. M.V.A.Gill in her Directory Of Newcastle Goldsmiths, 1980, cites a schedule of items sent by Robertson for assay between 11th November and 31st July1801. She lists two types of box, a snuffbox,a tobacco box, and a 'snuffbox cover'.She adds that Robertson was a an important customer of Thomas Bewick for a wide range of engraving.
A mid-19th Century French small format sewing box in fiddle walnut, of rectangular form, with steel mounts and centre handle, the interior with green velvet flush fitted tray with four mother of pearl silk winders in circular mirror apertures, silver needlecase, thimble, stiletto, silver handled scissors, glass scent bottle and a pair of matched steel scissors, part of one strap to lid missing, 20.5 8.5 x 15.5 deep.

An early 19th Century Palais Royal small format mahogany sewing box, with curved front and back, the bowed lid with central steel carrying handle within patterns of cut steel pins, the interior with flush fitted tray with four variant mother of pearl silk winders in circular mirror compartments, a stiletto with shield to mother of pearl handle, matched mother of pearl needle case, gilt bodkin, silver handed scissors with sheath, and thimble scent bottle lacking, on bun feet, 19 x 7 x 8cm deep. Ink inscription to base from Mr Rowles January 1st 1823.
