Autorist Self-Winding silver chrome plated rectangular gentleman's wristwatch, import hallmarks London 1931, signed dial with gilt Arabic numerals and inner minute track, Autorist signed 15 jewel 2 Adjts movement stamped 'Pat. Appld For', hinged case no. 11384 inscribed 'W.F. Snelling, Goodmayes 50, 1933', brown leather strap, 23mm (movement requires attention) - ** The Autorist wristwatch, an earlier invention by John Harwood relied upon the movement of the wrist, causing the strap to pull against a pivoted retainer, in turn connected to a lever within the movement which kept the mainspring fully wound. Not as successful as his later invention, it was not developed further.-Box and Papers - no.Movement - not running and requires attention.Dial - surface marks.Glass - yellowed, crazing.Hands - lacking hour hand, surface marks to the minute hand.Case - surface marks and wear to the plating - see images, inscribed to the case back.Crown - adjusting correctly.Strap - wear.-Condition reports are provided for general guidance only.
