A group of small silver comprising:- an Egyptian compact with engraved Arabic calligraphy; an English engine-turned compact; a pair of mounted cut-glass salts, Birmingham, 1914; a mounted cut-glass scent bottle; a Continental pill box with English import marks; a small cushion-shaped pill box by Levi & Salaman, Birmingham, 1901; a Continental leaf-engraved vesta case stamped "925"; a Victorian folding fruit knife with mother-of-pearl handle carved with diaperwork, by George Unite, Birmingham, 1860; and a silver-handled folding miniature comb by Levi & Salaman, Birmingham, 1891. (10). A few teeth of comb missing, small ding to edge of pill box cover, small ding to other pill box.
A silver christening bowl and spoon by Horton & Allday, Birmingham, 1928, bowl inscribed "Laurie Edward, 12 July 1941" (in original fitted box); and a second composite christening set, similarly inscribed on egg cup, comprising egg cup, spoon and napkin ring (in original fitted box), the first two items by Elkington & Co., Birmingham, 1939/40, the napkin ring of a later date, wt. 220 gm. (5). Good condition.
A late Victorian oblong silver dressing table box by William Comyns, London, 1894, embossed with birds, putti, flowers, scrolls and diaperwork, cover with central vacant cartouche, gilt interior, pinprick ding to centre of cartouche and remains of lacquer on cartouche, 11 cm. long., wt. 152 gm.
