A JAPANESE IRON KOMAI-STYLE CIGARETTE BOX the rectilinear hinge-lidded box raised on bracket feet and decorated in typical gold and silver nunome-zogan on a russet ground with a figure approaching a rustic Shinto shrine, a fishing boat passes in the distance beneath a snow-capped Fujiyama, the base marked with a seal of a rising sun Ohayo sei, Taisho-Early Showa period. 10.7cm wideThe hinged cover is installed in a back-to-front orientation. However, it's important to note that the hinge mechanism itself is in excellent working order, and the cover closes tightly as intended. Some minor, age-related surface wear is present, which is to be expected, but the item is generally in good condition, both structurally and aesthetically. The hinged cover issue does not significantly detract from the overall quality of the piece.
