Baker, Sergeant F. ATHE ANGLO-BOER WAR KEEPSAKES OF SERGEANT F. A. BAKER WORCESTERSHIRE REGIMENT 1899-1902The Collection comprises of the following: Pair of Anglo-Boer War Medals: Queen`s South Africa Medal 2 clasps: Cape Colony, Orange Free State and King`s South Africa Medal: 2 clasps South Africa 1901; South Africa 1902. Both medals officially impressed "3710 Serjit F Baker Worcester Regt." (EF) medal ribbons need replacing ? Finely carved riding crop - the top terminates in the shape of a horse`s head. Baker obviously purchased this from the Boer Prisoner of War who had carved it. Baker added two silver rings to the top and middle of the crop engraved with his initials `F.A.B.`. The top portion of the wooden handle of the crop has a barley twist design with the carved legend "J.P. P. O. W. Boer Camp Ceylon 1900-1902". There is a possibility that Baker spent part of his war service guarding Boer Prisoners of War in Ceylon, length 70cm ? Birmingham 1901 silver vesta case with Baker`s initials engraved `F.A.B.` ? Amber cheroot holder 9ct gold 1906 mouthpiece contained in a Birmingham 1905 hinged tapering case with loop at the bottom end ? Collapsible hinged campaign spoon (white metal) ? A `Waterman`s Ideal Fountain Pen` completely enveloped with a fretted engraved silver design fitted over the body of the pen with Baker`s engraved initials `F.A.B.`. In original titled card box by L. G. Sloan Ltd, The Pen Corner, Kingsway, London WC2 complete with instruction pamphlet and empty glass ink phail. ()

(Jakob Leser, München) and 950, safety pin on chain privatly by a juweler attached, chain broken, but laying aside; in lightblue case, silver embossed dedication Bayr. M.V.O. Offizierskreuz, golden maker mark of Gebrüder Hemmerle, Maximilianstr. 41 München in the lid. Cross flawless, the case shows signs of wear.SH S. 68ff, OEK18 404. 78 x 48 mm, 46,5 g.According to stickers, which where originally placed on the bottom of the box and are included with the cross, a identification of the former owner is possible. It was awarded on 6.7.1918 to Oberstleutnant Karl Theil of the Austro-Hungarian Army. Nice and rare cross, and especially with the box hard to find.Condition: II

Lufthansa2.000.000 flight-kilometer, badge, of Flight captain Friedrich Walter Heinrich Lutz.Silver gilded, partially enamelled, wing separatly attached and twice riveted, reverse with 800 hallmark and engraved award number 28, in juwelers box.DLH S. 188ff. 32 x 24 mm, 5,8 g.Walter Lutz was born on August 11. 1903 in Köhra. As 28 flight captain of the Lufthansa he was decorated with the badge, type after 1936, on November 11. 1942. During his career he survived two plan crashes - one of them in China. Luck wasnt with him on January 1. 1943 while serving on the eastern front. Badge comes with some photos, one where he wears the badge. Very rare.Condition: I-II

Cross: silver gilded, partially enamelled and fine chiseled, on ready to wear sash; 2.) star: silver giled, partially enamelled, multiple parts construction, high vaulted, hallmarked on the pin, in brown gold embossed case, maker mark of Frederico Costa Ltd. in the lid, miniatur on ribbon inside, on the box busines card with small coat of arms and name Wischnewski, Hans-Jürgen.VPI1 386, ZK2 2495f. 72 x 57 mm / 75 x 75 mm, 122,3 g m.B. / 74,5 g.The federal minister for business Hans-Jürgen Wischnewski held several positions during his career. His most known work were the travels during the kidnapping of Hans Martin Schleyer by the Red-Army-group. He followed, on the direct command of chancellor Helmut Schmidt, as special commissioner the kidnapped Lufthansa-plan "Landshut", which finally got stormed by the elite unit GSG9 in Mogadishu. The award of this set, which took place in 1978, most likly relates to this work.Condition: II
