Late Victorian silver military presentation cigarette box with glazed watercolour picture to lid depicting three 10th Hussar officers on horseback, the front engraved with the badge of The South African Light Horse and the sides engraved with campaigns in which the Regiment participated and 1899 Colenso -1900 (hallmarked London 1900). This cigarette case was presented to Field Marshall Viscount Byng of Vimy by the officers of The South African Light Horse which he formed during the Boer War. Sold with typed note of provenance and left to his valet after Lady Byng`s death in 1949
