The prisoners were put on a POW ship by the Japanese to sail Japan. They were imprisoned in the hull of the ship. The ship was then bombed by the Americans and the Japanese would not free the prisoners. 1,000 men lost their lives. We have many letters to family from my uncle and family letters returned.
