An early 20th century beaded Egyptian evening bag with hieroglyphics to edges and Pharaoh image to front and back, with tortoiseshell clasp and chain detail, 17 x 27cm, a turquoise beaded evening bag with ceramic ring handles, a vintage silver snakeskin evening bag, a small pink and white beaded bag, a gold chainmail coin bag, two Coty powder compacts, opera glasses and some collar studs in original beige calfskin box.Condition Report: The Egyptian bag has signs of use to one of the sides with a light blue staining across the middle are there is some damage to both edges, the tortoiseshell chain is unattached at one side and internally there is some damage to the silk, all other items are in good vintage condition.

A LARGE BURMESE SILVER BETEL NUT MARRIAGE BOX, MID-20TH CENTURY, POSSIBLY SHAN STATES, CIRCA 1940-50 of circular form raised on a pointed square base, the body with embossed decoration of figural Jataka scenes with trees and buildings to the background, Burmese script above each one, each panel divided by V-shaped cartouches containing two Gandharva amidst foliate scrolls, the feet cornered with peacocks forming arches inhabited by foliate scrolls, the shoulder with twelve embossed vignettes containing zodiac symbols, the pull-off domed lid with embossed figural panels depicting domestic life, Gandharva and horseback riders, surmounted by an elephant finial signed in Burmese on the underside. 28cm high, 39.4 troy ounces

The hinge is in good order, and the cover closes and opens well. In generally good condition.
ATTRIBUTED TO GIOACCHINO BARBERI (ITALIAN, 1772-1857) A LATE 18TH CENTURY GOLD-MOUNTED ABALONE SHELL AND LACQUERED CIRCULAR SNUFF BOX, THE LID INSET WITH AN OVAL MICROMOSAIC SCENE OF AN ITALIAN GREYHOUND FAMILY GROUP the inset micromosaic panel Roman, the mounts with a Paris discharge mark 1768-1774, with later control marks, the oval panel depicting the standing dog and recumbent bitch nursing her two puppies within a silver frame, the gold cage-mounted lacquered box with abalone shell, the interior lined in tortoiseshell. 3cm high, 8cm diameterThe micromosaic is in excellent condition without losses or restoration. A couple of areas on the underside of the base may have been restored but they could also quite easily be flaws in the making. The usual surface wear commensurate with age but generally in very good condition.
