A George III Silver Inkstand, by Joseph Craddock and William Ker Reid, London, 1813 shaped oblong and on four foliage and scroll-capped paw feet, with shell and foliage-heightened gadrooned border and supports for the two silver-mounted cut-glass bottles and with a further central box with a detachable cover in the form of a taperstick, with loop handle and associated conical extinguisher, engraved with a crest25.5cm wide, weighable silver 24oz 1dwt, 748grFully marked under base. Further part marked on each support, on taperstick, on extinguisher, on each cover and on one mount. The extinguisher with maker's mark SR and indistinct London marks. There is some wear to the marks on some pieces. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There are some minor chips to the glass bottles.
A Victorian Silver Inkstand, by John Newton Mappin, London, 1892 oblong and with canted corners, on four winged-paw feet, with gadrooned border and supports for the two silver-mounted cut-glass bottles and with a central square box with detachable cover26cm wide, 21oz 11dwt, 670grFully marked on base and on each bottle mount. Further part marked on side of box, inside box cover and inside each bottle cover. Further stamped underneath with maker's name. There is some wear to some marks but in general they are legible. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The wear is noticeable as a softening to the high points. The mount of one bottle is detached.
A Victorian Silver Inkstand, by Edward, Edward, John and William Barnard, London, 1840 shaped oblong and on four openwork foliage cast feet, the reeded rim with a vacant cartouche and two shell-cast grips, supporting two melon cast containers, each with rocaille cast cover with foliage and foliage finial, each containing a silver-mounted glass bottle, with a central box, the lid with a later finial cast as a gillie holding a fish37.5cm wide, weight of silver 54oz 19dwt, 1,710grThe inscription reads 'Mr Alfred V Sale from the staff of the Dominion Motor Spirit Co. Ltd. December 1937'.Fully marked under base and inside box cover. Further park marked on side of box and on covers. The containers have not been removed and are possibly marked underneath. The finial is apparently unmarked and is probably later. It tests as silver. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There are some minor bruises. The glass bottles are possibly later. The surface has been treated to prevent tarnish. This has discoloured and worn off in places. The cartouches have probably been erased.

The mark is clear. There is overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There is a bruise to the side and a further obvious bruise at the base.

Vacheron & Constantin: A Rare and Interesting Silver Open Faced Keyless Naval Deck Watch, Recorded in Service in the 1940's on Board HMS Upright, HMS Elfin and HMS Lingay, signed Vacheron & Constantin, Geneve, Chronometer Royal, Numbered 1566, circa 1940, manual wound lever movement signed and numbered 371566, split bimetallic balance with a blued overcoil hairspring, micrometer regulation, wolf's tooth winding, enamel dial with Arabic numerals signed and numbered, seconds dial, case back with engraved H.S (Hydrographic Service) military broad arrow 2, inside back cover stamped Vacheron & Constantin and numbered 271321, silver convention mark 0.925, with outer wooden fitted box, inside lid with instrument makers stamp label "B.Cooke & Son Ltd, Hull, sold with a photocopy of the original ledger for this chronometer number 156658mm wideFrom research at the Royal Observatory the ledger confirms this Naval Deck watch by Vacheron & Constantin was purchased by the Royal Navy in February 1942 for a sum of £16, and sold in August 1961 to B.Cooke & Son. The ledger confirms this deck watch was on board HMS Upright (U Class Submarine), HMS Elfin (Torpedo recovery vessel) and HMS Lingay (Trawler/Minesweeper).Case with surface scratches, case with very minor dents in parts visible under an eyeglass, case covers are nice an tight when closed, case hinges are in good condition, pendant bow is missing, glass with scratches, dial is clean and with no cracks and no chips, dial with broad arrow rubbed and still visible beneath the number 1566 and can be seen under an eyeglass when tilting the watch towards the light, minute hand is stained, hand setting correctly and winding smoothly, movement is clean and in going order. Outer wooden fitted box is faded and with dents and scratches in parts.
A George II or George III Irish Silver Bougie-Box, by William Williamson, Dublin, Circa 1750 cylindrical and with reeded loop handle, the hinged cover with central opening, the rim and cover engraved, probably later, with a band of foliage scrolls and latticework, with loop handle, later engraved with a crest85mm highMarked under base with maker's mark crowned harp and Hibernia. Further marked inside cover with maker's mark. There is some wear to the marks underneath, though each is generally still visible. The maker's mark inside the cover is clear. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The wear is noticeable as a softening/loss to the engraving, which is perhaps later. There is a break to the top of the handle. The handle with pierced hole, perhaps originally for a chain which may have held an extinguisher, now lacking. The gross weight, including the wax candle inside is 307gr.
A Russian Silver and Niello Snuff-Box, Maker's Mark HM, Moscow, 185?, Assay Master Andrey Antonovich Kovalsky oblong, the hinged cover and base each engraved with bands of foliage scrolls and rocaille on a niello ground, the sides with latticework, the interior gilt85mm wide, gross weight 3oz 11dwt, 110grMarked inside base and cover. The marks with some minor wear but generally clear. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The wear is noticeable as a softening to the engraving and the niello. The wear to the niello is most obvious to the base. There is a bruise to one of the short sides. This has caused a chip to the niello and a small split.
