Appears to be some metal showing through at back of hinge. Surprisingly heavy. Surface scratched and marked particularly to base. Cover/hinge with slight play, sits slightly off centre, again some scratches to cover and slight knock to one corner.

Generally appears complete.Scabbard and blade both hallmarked, both near the hilt. Blade stamped for London and with a Sampson Mordan & Co stamp on the opposite side.
