George IV was by far the best royal customer. Following his first purchase in 1805, his commissions became suitably grander after he was named Regent in 1811. Other admirers included Napoleon, who promised his generals that the first of them to capture London could pillage the famous shop. , An exhibition Royal Goldsmiths: The Art of Rundell and Bridge 1797-1843 is being held from 14 June to 1 July 2005 at Koopman Rare Art, London.
