A set of Birmingham Mint silver ingots A limited edition boxed 25-item set, actually with 26, being a commemorative series Milestones of Manned Flight. Each c2" x 1" ingot depicts a famous event or craft such as the Wright Brothers first powered flight (1903), Lindbergh’s solo transatlantic flight (1927), Spitfire (1940), Harrier (1967) and Concorde (1976). The additional ingot appears to be of a De Havilland Comet racer, incorrectly dated 1952. Also some correspondence between buyer and makers. Mounted in a wooden display box with blue felt backing and a perspex cover, minor wear, contents GC, some scratching.

Two Early 19th Century Snuff Boxes & A Tortoiseshell Purse: A horn snuff box with a painted lid depicting a Terrier; 1 ins (2.5 cms) high, 3¾ ins x 2 ins (9.5 cms x 5 cms). A papier maché ebonised snuff box painted with a man cutting a lock of a maidens hair measuring 1 ins (2.5 cms) in height, 3¾ ins x 2½ ins (9.5 cms x 6.5 cms). The tortoiseshell purse of elongated oval form inlaid with a central silver shield engraved `AWC` and bordered by a band of mother of pearl roundels. The brass clasp opening to reveal a red silk lined interior; 1 ins (2.5 cms) in height, 3¼ ins x 2 ins (8 cms x 5 cms).
