Pablo Picasso, 1881-1973 TæTE DE FAUNE inscribed Picasso, stamped Hugo, numbered with the references 1778 and 1745 and numbered 2/20 on the reverse 23 carat gold medallion in original box 4 by 5.5cm.; 1.625 by 2.25in. Conceived in 1956 and executed in 1980 in an edition of 20. This work is one example of several in gold executed after designs by Picasso during his collaboration with the eminent silver and goldsmith Francois Hugo.

Ballard (unit unknown): Campaign Stars for 1939-45, Africa with bar 8th Army, and Italy; Defence & War Medals, with oak palm, mint state, in forwarding card box of issue Sold with the lot are numerous artefacts belonging to Corporal W. Ballard, West Yorks. Regt., formerly 17th Lancers, including the recipient's Soldier's Small Book [showing he enlisted in 1905 and served in India, 1905-1911], two silver cigarette cases and a silver vesta case, five military badges, a fine quality brass-cased pocket compass by Laurence & Mayo of London, sundry photographs (in a tin tube container) and various other items.
