EDWARD VIII: (1894-1972) King of the United Kingdom January-December 1936. Later Duke of Windsor. Vintage signed 4.5 x 3.5 photograph, the image depicting the Prince of Wales standing in a three quarter length pose, wearing a pith helmet and short sleeve shirt, on the deck of a boat. Signed (`Edward P`) in dark fountain pen ink to a light area of the image and dated Nigeria, 1925 in his hand. A second date, in an unidentified hand, of Lagos, 22nd April 1925, appears to the verso. Accompanied by the original envelope addressed to Mrs. A. Burt in London and postally cancelled at Cape Town, 1st May 1925. A large, original 14 x 20 pencil drawing by artist Duncan Robertson, the image depicting Hill in a head and shoulders pose wearing his racing helmet and goggles, signed in blue ink by Hill to a clear area at the base with his name alone. A large, original 14 x 20 pencil drawing by artist Duncan Robertson, the image depicting McLaren in a smiling head and shoulders pose wearing his racing helmet and goggles. Signed by McLaren with his name alone in blue ink to a clear area at the base. Also signed by the artist at the head and dated July 1969. Autographs of McLaren are rare in any form following his tragically early death at the age of 32 when he crashed his car while testing at Goodwood.
