Old Bill WW1 Caricature Car Mascot The mascot is made of bronze and is a head and shoulders of Old Bill wearing steel helmet and scarf. The underside is stamped Copyright and is with registration number. GC with good patina. One small crack to scarf not effecting overall appearance. These mascots were popular during the 1920's and were purchased and mounted onto radiator caps.

The interior retains leather sweatband, this now dry. The overall condition is good. No evidence of another helmet plate having been worn

Lothians and Berwickshire Yeomanry Cavalry Victorian Officer's helmet. A good scarce example of the 1871 pattern helmet. Silvered skull decorated with brass thistles; to the front a regimental pattern helmet plate bearing the title 'Lothians and Berwickshire Yeomanry Cavalry'. Gilt spike supports a white regimental pattern horsehair plume with rose boss. To each side, a brass rose head boss supports a leather backed brass chin chain. The interior with leather lining with crimson silk edging. Overall GC slight age wear to the lining and damage to the wreath of the helmet plate. In 1877 adopted title Lothians and Berwickshire Yeomanry Cavalry; 1908 redesignated Lothians and Border Horse.

A very fine example of a light grey cloth Home Service Pattern helmet complete with white metal cross piece, spike and rose head bosses which support the leather backed chin chain. To the front, an EVRC cypher surmounted by a strung bugle. Two bands of mohair lace around the helmet. The interior with leather sweatband and paper label of '... Hambro, Esq. de Hanlands'. VGC Raised as 8th Buckinghamshire RVC in 1860, reformed as 2nd Bucks (Eton College) Rifle Volunteers 15th June 1878. December 1887 redesigned 4th (Eton College) VB Oxfordshire Light Infantry, 1902 reverted to 2nd Bucks.

East Yorkshire Regiment Victorian Officer's helmet. An example of the 1878 pattern Officer's Home Service blue cloth helmet. Blue melton cloth with gilt crosspiece, spike and rose head bosses which support the velvet backed chin chain. To the front, a gilt helmet plate with central star and rose, the silver tri-part scroll inscribed 'The East Yorkshire Regiment'. The gilt to the helmet plate remains bright and fresh and the helmet retains a good shape. Please Note the leather lining is absent and evidence of another helmet plate having been fitted.

To the front, an eight pointed cut silver star mounted with central motif of the Welsh Dragon within a strap inscribed 'Montgomeryshire Yeomanry Cavalry'. A silvered spike supports a white horsehair plume with silvered rose boss to crown. Two rose head bosses support the velvet backed chin chain. Quilted material lining to interior. Overall near VGC.

The helmet is complete with silvered cross piece, spike and rose bosses supporting a velvet backed chin chain. To the front, a silvered helmet plate with title scroll '4th Cheshire Rifle Volunteers'. The interior with Leather sweatband with crimson silk edging, also tailor's details of Christy's London. Good clean condition. 4th Cheshire (Cheshire & Derby) Rifle Vols. had 'L' to 'N' Companies (late 23rd Derby) at Glossop. In December 1887 by GO 181 became 4th VB Cheshire Regt.

North Somerset Yeomanry Cavalry Victorian Officer's 1847 'Albert' pattern helmet. A fine and scarce example worn by the Regiment circa 1854-1901. Silvered skull decorated with gilt metal floral leaf design. Helmet plate bearing a brass title strap inscribed 'The North Somerset' with an entwined VR Cypher to the centre. Rose head bosses support a brass chin chain with leather backing. The plume holder of leaf design supports a white flowing horsehair plume with a rose head boss. The interior retains quilted cotton sweatband. Minor age wear near VGC.

1st Life Guards 1842 Albert pattern Officer's helmet This example attributed to Major George Rushout 3rd Baron Northwick. Silvered skull with giltmetal scrolling floral decoration to the front and rear peaks and also gilt oakleaf spin to the rear. To the front a fine gilt and enamel Victorian helmet plate of regimental pattern. The crown is surmounted by a gilt plume holder, which supports a white horsehair plume with gilt rose boss. A pair of gilt bosses support a leather backed chinchain. The interior with original silk lining. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING. The helmet has been disassembled and is now in parts. Gilt metal remains bright. Plate with no damage to enamel. Skull is good. Chinchain with stitching faults. Lining good. Plume in relic condition. One section of oakleaf gilt metal which would fit from helmet plate crown to plume holder is missing. All other parts appear present. George Rushout, 3rd Baron Northwick (1811-87). Educated at Harrow and Oxford graduating with both BA and MA, commissioned Cornet in the 1st Life Guards 1833, was promoted Lieutenant in 1837 and Major in 1842. MP for Evesham (over which he fought one of the last duels) and Worcester East.

Brass skull decorated with laurel leaves; to the front a white metal Garter star bearing gilt metal Garter which encircles the numeral '6' set on a black patent leather ground. Brass rose head boss to either side support the brass leather-backed chin chain. To the crown a brass spike which supports a white regimental pattern horsehair plume with rose boss. Overall GC, leather lining to the interior absent, some stitching faults to the chin chain.

Original leather lining to interior. With minor service wear otherwise GC.
